The Origin

We had gathered together at Thiru Vi. Ka High School, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai for the June 2009 month’s event to provide educational aid to the Differently Abled / Children of Differently Abled / Poor Children. We provided School Fees / Uniforms / Note Books for 38 Children. We also entertained them by conducting various games such as Musical Chair, Talent Show, Blind Fold Games, Balloon Bursting Competition and Anthakshari. We provided Lunch along with Snacks, Biscuits and Chocolates to the beneficiaries and their parents who had accompanied them for the event. The Children enjoyed the day and had fun.

Our sincere thanks to Mr. Aarokiya Dass, who himself is a Differently Abled Person and is the founder of Snegithan (It is a Registered Non Profit Trust who are providing assistance and guidance for the Differently Abled and Poor People), who helped us to identify the beneficiaries and gathered them for the event.

School Fees for 16 Children & Footwear for 22 Children of a Poor Orphan Home

We also provided School Fees for 16 children and Footwear for 22 children of Gandhiji Rehabilitation Centre, Poonamallee, Chennai (At present this organization takes cares of nearly 25 inmates; almost all of them are orphan / semi-orphan. This home provides free food, shelter, medical care and other basic needs of life to the inmates, besides providing school education).

Individual Educational Aid

We came to know about a boy Naveen Kumar from a poor family, referred by our volunteer Annapoorani, is going to discontinue his studies after completing her 10^th Standard successfully, due to financial problem. He lost his father and his mother is affected with cancer. He scored 393 out of 500 (88.6%) in SSLC Examination. We have provided School Fees for his 11^th Standard along with the Uniforms amounting to Rs. 5,000/-. Last month we had provided educational aid to this boy’s elder sister.

Attached is the Contribution & Expenses Open Account Sheet with Bill number column, for your reference, along with the scanned bills. We appreciate your valuable Suggestions/Comments about the event to plan and improve our future events. The excess amount of Rs. 37,613.10 would be utilized for July 2009 month’s event.
