September 2009 - Monthly Event
Till now, we have been providing service for the poor and needy people in and around Chennai through our “The Origin” monthly event Team. To take it further, we are planning to extend our support to poor and needy people in rural areas of Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Month’s Provision and Day to Day needs for a Poor / Orphan / Semi – Orphan / Destitute Women Home @ Nandhiyambakkam, Chennai.
For September 2009 month’s event, we visited Bharatha Matha Sevai Illam, Nandhiyambakkam, Chennai on 26th September 2009. At present, this organization takes care of nearly 70 inmates (Orphan / Semi-Orphan Children – 60, Destitute Women – 10). ). This home provides free food, shelter, medical care and other basic needs of life to the inmates, besides providing school education to orphan children of the home. Children are studying in the nearby Government Schools. We provided a Month’s Provision for the home. We also provided Flask, Emergency Lamp, Torch Light, Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Biscuits, Chocolates, etc. We spent some time with the children, by interacting and playing with them.
Subject Guides for Girls of Government Children’s Home @ Purasawakkam, Chennai.
Children who are poor, orphan, missing, abandoned, neglected, destitute and delinquent and Women who are victims of immoral trafficking from the age of 5 years to 18 years are brought to the Government Children’s Home for Girls. Children are studying in nearby school and also in the residential school in the home. We came to know that the students studying 10th Standard were in need of Subject Guides for main subjects, which we provided as part of this Month’s Event.
Month’s Provision for a Visually Challenged Home @ Rural Areas of Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh.
Our volunteer Narahari had visited a Visually Challenged Home for Girls named “Andha Mahila Aasramamu” @ Kurugunta Village, Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh on 11th October 2009. At present, this organization takes care of nearly 15 inmates from age 15 to 30. This home provides free food, shelter, and other basic needs of life to the inmates. 8 girls are studying 11th Standard, 6 girls are studying 10th Standard and one girl is pursuing her degree. We provided a Month’s Provision for the home as part of this Month’s Event.
Special Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner on Deepavali Day / Crackers for a Poor / Orphan / Semi – Orphan Children Home @ Poonamallee, Chennai.
We have already provided a month’s provision in February 2009 to Gandhiji Rehabilitation Centre, Poonamallee, Chennai. At present this organization takes cares of nearly 25 inmates; almost all of them are orphan / semi-orphan. On the occasion of Deepavali festival, we provided them Special Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner along with the Crackers.
Savories / Crackers / Ice – Creams for a Visually Challenged Women’s Home @ Tondiarpet, Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Association for the Blind Home at Tondiarpet, Chennai, provides free food, shelter for the 50 blind women and they are also doing various works such as making of Note Books / Office Files / Box Files / Medical Covers / Letter Covers / Candles, etc. We provided them Savories, Ice Creams and Crackers on the occasion of Deepavali festival.
Attached is the Contribution & Expenses Open Account Sheet with Bill number column, for your reference, along with the scanned bills. We appreciate your valuable Suggestions/Comments about the event to plan and improve our future events. The excess amount of Rs. 29,161.10 would be utilized for October 2009 month’s event.
